Former Playschool host attacks Australia’s lack of quality film and television

Former Playschool presenter Noni Hazelhurst yesterday launched an attack on the lack of quality of television and film production in Australia. Speaking at the Screen Producers conference, Ms Hazelhurst said children were being fed an imbalanced diet of information, images and concepts. Susan Hetherington, media lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology says Ms Hazelhurst was harsh with her comments and believes pre-schoolers and early primary school children do have access to good Australian content.
