Grandmothers rise up against the forced removal of Aboriginal children

On Aboriginal Children’s Day today in Sydney, the Grandmothers Against Removals group led a protest against the mass removal of Aboriginal Australian children from their families, calling for an end to the abuse of children in juvenile prisons and out-of-home care.

Currently in Australia, far greater numbers of Aboriginal Australian children are taken from their families than in the time of the Stolen Generations last century.
