The National Asylum Summit was held at the University of South Australia including representatives from the UNHCR. Richard Towle is the UNHCR representative to Australia, New Zealand, PNG and the Pacific since early 2007 and has seen asylum seeker policies of three Prime Ministers. He believes the current system of processing is robust, but more needs to be done regionally.
