Number of forced displaced people is over 70 million worldwide

Last week the United Nations reported there are more than 70 million displaced people in the world. Of this total, almost 26 million are considered refugees by the standards of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

The Countries of most concern to the Commissioner are Syria and Venezuela.

Wars, violence and persecution uprooted record numbers of men, women and children worldwide in 2018, making a new global deal on refugees more critical than ever, according to the latest report published by UNHCR.
