The true extent of poverty is extending to Australia’s food supply. Again those on the lower end of the society bear the brunt and are often forced to choose between healthy foods and paying off other living costs. Foodbank CEO Jason Hincks says the supply is not meeting the sky-rocketing demand, and welfare agencies are turning away hungry mouths. Sydney Food Fairness Alliance’s Liz Millen says the costs of food insecurity may be higher than we think.
