It’s a story that’s hot in regional Australia, and one that’s dear to the heart of Independent MP Bob Katter. Food imports to Australia are on the rise, and according to AUSVEG, the peak body representing growers, we spent $306 million more on food we imported last year, than on food we sold overseas. Hugh Tobin from AUSVEG says there are a range of vegetables that are the main culprits.
