Flamenco finds inspiration from UN refugee children

When Flamenco choreographer Martin Santangelo came across nine poems written by refugee children, he was moved by their stories, stories which he says are so similar to those of persecuted peoples everywhere. From those poems came a new piece, ‘Carmino” which opened in Adelaide last night. Artistic Director Martin Santangelo explains the common thread that links the poems of refugee kids with the stories told throughout history by flamenco.
