Clinton or Trump? The battle came to a head today with the Democratic and Republican nominees fighting it out over the economy, foreign policy and terrorism issues. Moderator and NBC news host Lester Holt set the stage for a democratic discussion he promised would stick to the facts. However, the ninety minute battle quickly heated up with shots fired on both sides over Trump’s lack of tax transparency and Clinton’s email scandal.

Early polling has hailed Clinton as the winner. But with two more debates to go will this first skirmish set the tone for the rest of the campaign?
