Koonibba is a remote Aboriginal community 586 kilometres northwest of Adelaide, and it’s already launched a rocket. Southern Launch’s 11.5 metre German rocket was successfully launched in partnership with the local community and the Koonibba Aboriginal Community Council.

While some residents were critical of these operations, most say it has brought more job and education opportunities for local schools, with potential to boost tourism in the future.
