The ancestral remains of First Nations adults and children held by Californian institutions since the early 1900s have now been returned to Australia.

The significant repatriation includes the remains of a Ngarrindjeri man, and this week Ngarrindjeri Elder, Uncle Major (Moogy) Sumner, travelled from South Australia to bring his ancestor home, emphasizing the healing this brings to his community and the land.
