Australia could be facing one of its most devastating bushfire seasons in over 30 years. Grasslands have flourished since the last wet summer, and now they’re drying out. And posing a fire risk to great expanses of central and northern Australia.

Central Australia is on high alert as a heavier than usual wet-weather season last summer means the central part of the country is at greater risk of grassfire threat this season. The fires have been forecast to possibly even compare with those of 1974-75, when 15 per cent of the continent was ablaze.
