Hurricane Sandy is advancing towards the east coast of the United States, and authorities are anticipating it could be one of the worst storms in the country’s history. Hundreds of thousands of people have been ordered to leave low lying areas in New York, New Jersey and Long Island, where strong winds and tidal surges are expected to hit Monday night, local time.
