Finding the faults of driverless cars

A few months ago in Arizona, an Uber driverless car hit and killed a woman who was crossing the street, prompting international discussion of the level of safety of autonomous vehicles.
A preliminary report from the US National Transportation Safety Board has since found a number of design faults in the car in question that appear to have made it much more likely to crash.
Uber has now ended its driverless car program in Arizona but plans to resume tests in Pennsylvania.
