‘No cuts, no fees’ was the catch cry of university students across Australia today as they marched in protest to cuts to university funding. It’s an issue that has been brewing since April, when the Federal Government announced a $2.3bill cut in funding to higher education.
The Coalition has supported the cuts.With an election just around the corner, today was a National Day of Action across Australia, aimed at encouraging both parties to reverse the cuts.
