Minister for the Environment Tanya Plibersek today announced the Federal Governments new plan to conserve Australia’s native flora and fauna, with a goal of no further extinctions.

The plan will see an additional 50 million hectares of land protected for conservation, bringing the total amount of protected land in Australia to 30 per cent, in line with more than fifty other countries who pledged the same at the One Planet Summit in France earlier this year. The plan will prioritize 20 areas and 110 species identified as at risk.

But will this be enough to save our at risk ecosystems?
