Today, the Federal government announced a multi-million dollar commitment to support public interest journalism, through the independent and community media sector.

Minister for Communications Michelle Rowland confirmed extra funding for the community media sector, as well as a News Assistance Program, allowing news outlets to address the specific needs of their unique audiences.
