An outpouring of grief today has today been in evidence in the media, online and with ordinary Australians in their everyday life.

Father Bob Maguire was a Roman Catholic Priest who dedicated his life to charity and helping those on the lower rungs of society.

Coming to prominence in the media later in life, his cheeky and robust discussions with media personality John Safran struck a chord with many that transcended the appeal he had in his native Melbourne to a national audience.   Even in his last days he was still vowing to fight the decision to remove him from the board of his Father Bob Maguire Foundation.  Vale Father Bob.
