Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce wants to move a range of government bodies that deal with rural communities closer to their stakeholders.

And today he’s announced the cost of moving one of them to Armidale will be $25.6 million.

But the peak body representing farmers the National Farmer’s Federation, fears the change could see an exodus of skilled staff.
