The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) will issue a new Report Card on the major political parties’ agricultural policies for the Federal election. The NFF saw plenty of room for improvement in the Report Card they issued three weeks out from the election. The highest rating given was two-and-a-half stars achieved by only one party in just one policy area.

Some rural groups are concerned that the major parties have forgotten about Australia’s agricultural industries in the lead up to the election. The National Farmers’ Federation appears to agree and in their five key election priority areas they considered that all three political parties had to commit to do more for the rural sector.
