Falun Gong supporters in Australia petitioned the previous government fairly heavily to make some kind of stand to China over human rights abuses. Now they’re on to the case with Kevin Rudd and the new Federal government. At a press conference in Melbourne journalists heard reports that the Chinese authorities are preparing for the Olympics by getting rid of the Falun Gong in large numbers. Kay Rubacek , spokesperson for the Falun Gong in Australia says they are hopeful that Rudd may take a stronger stand.
