A tenacious fighter for civil rights, Faith Bandler was one of the reasons the historic 1967 referendum ensured every indigenous person in Australia could vote and had the same rights as everyone else. She was also a prolific author and an advocate for womens rights and south sea islander rights. Professor Marcia Langton calls her a tough campaigner and a brilliant critical thinker.
