The passing of science fiction author Ray Bradbury has been a very sad loss for the sci-fi community and book readers alike. But with books rapidly being tranferred into digital format, are we losing the humble paperback or hardcover book? Is Fahrenheit 451 turning into Fahrenheit 00110100 00110101 00110001?

The legacy of Bradbury’s most famous work – the fear of intellectual supression through the loss of books – is an  pressing issue as books as we enter a digital age. Now that high schools are moving books into digital format, is the book-burning dystopian society envisiaged in Fahrenheit 451 soon becoming a reality?
