Facebook bans breast cancer awareness ads
Today Facebook stated that photos of topless women and a man, holding buns and rolls over their breasts as part of a breast cancer ad campaign violates their partial nudity policy.
Facebook refuses to run the ads until adequate alterations are made to the photos. However, according to Facebook’s own guidelines images related to health, such as breast cancer awareness is in fact allowed and may in fact be a double standard when there is much more problematic content not being blocked.
The nonsensical decision threatens to significantly reduce the campaign’s effectiveness to raise awareness and much needed funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
