Current Federal Legislation prohibiting the electronic publication of information on ways to commit suicide, is killing freedom of speech according to Democrat renegade Sandra Kanck. Using Parliamentary Privilege to bypass the current Suicide Material Related Offences Act, Ms Kanck detailed various ways to die in South Australian Parliament earlier this week. The controversial comments were struck from the Hansard record last night. Dr Philip Nitschke, is the Director of Exit Australia, an organisation informing elderly people about options for ending their life and he explained what the legislation was doing to his organisation.
