In response to the cold shoulder of the Federal Government, Indigenous people gathered on Monday in Canberra to address issues of violence, sexual abuse, alcohol and substance misuse.The forum was hosted by ANTAR(Australians for Native Title and Reconcilliation) their spokesperson,Gary Highland motivated to present the successful programs. Indigenous. Professor Judy Atkinson of Southern Cross University raised concerns about pronographic material in Cape York communities. Whilst another key researcher in the field Associate Professor Bonnie Robertson Chair for the Violence Task Force of 1999,believes the case has been overstated. Academic Lester Irriebinna Rigney welcomed the national platform to gain a variety of Indigenous perspectives.
