On Friday, the Wire looked at the issue of human rights abuses in women’s prisons as the Eleventh International Prison Abolition Conference in Hobart begun. Tonight, we bring you a report from the conference, where a range of speakers from across the globe, discussed the problems of imprisonment and explored alternatives. Arianne Minc was in Tasmania and she first spoke to Professor Bob Gaucher from the University of Ottawa and then Melissa Munn, a Canadian Prison Acitvist and ex-prisoner and Breakout Housing Group Company Secretary Ian Fraser.
