Germany has drafted a new law which would ban employers from getting information from perspective employees from social networking sites such as Facebook and Bebo, in order to protect people’s privacy. If this Bill is passed, Germany will become the first country to legally restrict the use of personal information on private social networking sites. The Wire Journalist, Ruth Chalker, took a look at this inventive new law and the status of Australia’s laws in regard to social networking sites.
