Electric vehicle stoush
A stoush has erupted over the targets to be set for vehicle Co2 Emissions.
Following the 43% target set by the Government, there are competing ideas on how we should achieve these numbers.
The Fairfax press has been critical of modelling published by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries representing the passenger vehicle industry. The Industry currently subscribes to voluntary targets which are at 98 grams of Co2 per kilometre. They say that they will be monitoring and revising this, but it currently is more than that of the European Union.
In Monash University and Griffith University’s recent research on Business Fleets and EV’s Dr Diane Kraal found that more Government intervention would probably be needed in the form of incentives and taxes to move to electric light vehicles.
