It is nearly a year since compulsory income management was extended to Playford in South Australia and 5 other Australian communities in a trial of the program that has been in place in the Northern Territory for 6 years. Opponents of the program claim there is no solid evidence to show that it is achieving its goals. They would like to see the funds spent on the program go towards more community and support services for families and individuals at risk.
