In 2005 the Liberals gained control of the Senate, and in an effort to bring some balance to the political agenda, GetUp was born. GetUp campaign to get progressive issues on the agenda of those in power, last election they ran campaigns on climate change and ending mandatory detention. This election, climate change is back on the GetUp agenda, as well as asylum seekers and mental health.
