Marathon Resources are exploring for uranium in the wild far north of the Flinders ranges, and have had to do battle against a fairly high profile campaign against allowing mining in the pristine Arkaroola ranges. They did their cause no good when they were found illegally dumping radioactive waste in the area. They say that clean up is now complete but Friends of the Earth and local Adnyamathanyha elders are not convinced – they’re heading off on an Easter trip to check for themselves.
