Egypt’s revolutionaries face stark choice in presidential runoff
Egypt’s electoral commission has announced the final results of the country’s presidential election, and the results are not in line with the hopes of many of Egypt’s revolutionaries. No candidate won an outright majority, but the two remaining contenders for the upcoming runoff election are an islamist and a remnant of the Mubarak regime. The two remaining candidates will now gear up for the final runoff election to be held next month. Steve Ahern filed this update from Cairo.
