Education revolution slammed as misleading rhetoric
Education Minister Julia Gillard took to the stage this morning to spruik the Government’s success so far in rolling out their much-hyped Education Revolution. She told a forum organized by the Australian National Schools Network that the revolution is on track, with many school building projects already underway and a national curriculum set to be launched in 2011. But for all the back-slapping, the campaign has attracted plenty of criticism, much of it centered on the Government’s controversial My School website, designed to give parents the information they need to make detailed comparisons between different schools. Some in the education community say the revolution rhetoric hides a myriad of problems.
