With a 16 year old high school student just arrested for the possession of 94 ecstasy tablets, questions have been raised over how easy teenagers are finding it to buy illicit drugs. Some even say that they are easier to access than alcohol, where you need ID to purchase it. In spite of the rise in the prevalence of young people accessing drugs however, the combination of media and educational campaigns are generally having the desired effect on young people. Informed decisions when it comes to the consumption of drugs and alcohol seem to be the best defence mechanism available.
