Easying the financial burden for mental health patients

While psychological treatment has proven to be beneficial it also comes at a very high financial cost for patients. A Federal government proposal might just ease that burden for some, with the push to give people with mental health disorders access to qualified psychologist through Medicare. With 1 in 5 Australians experiencing a mental illness at some stage in their lives, the proposal has been openly welcomed by among others Lyn Littlefield, the executive director of the Australian Psychological Society.
