Adolescents with Type 1 diabetes are likely to develop further health complications, including blindness, kidney failure and heart problems. A new international drug trial, headed by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, involving 500 diabetic adolescents, is tipped to prevent the decline in such health factors. And some even say it’s another stepping stone towards the ultimate goal of discovering preventative measures and even a cure.
