Drug services see five-year rise in amphetamine addiction treatments

New figures show more people are presenting to drug treatment clinics for amphetamine addiction and the average age of patients has risen over the past five years. The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare research on alcohol and other drug services shows more treatment services are being provided than ever before. It coincides with a parliamentary inquiry into crystal methamphetamine – otherwise known as ice – that aims to reduce the prevalence of the drug in Australia.
