The debate surrounding climate change has, until now, focused on the merits or otherwise of the government’s proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme for Australian businesses and the environment. Little attention has been given to the very real threat of climate change and its consequences; disease, poverty and displacement, faced by our Pacific neighbours. Island communities were today given the chance to voice their concerns about climate change at the annual Pacific Islands Forum. The Wire’s Hannah Chipperfield reports.
