The Australian Government’s Smart Traveller website urges Australian’s to exercise a high level of caution when travelling to Thailand as civil unrest flares. Yesterday an arrest warrant was issued for former Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra for inciting violence as his red-shirted supporters protested throughout the kingdom. Last year yellow-shirts locked down the airport. But what’s it like to be an Australian living, working and raising a family in Thailand amongst the colour branded combatants? Kym Thompson is an Aussie father of four who’s lived in Thailand for thirteen years. Johnny Stokes asked him if he had to be careful of wearing yellow or red shirts in his every day life.
