The kangaroo is one of our most iconic native species, so why would we want to kill them off? Kangaroo’s are often viewed as pests and annoyances for farmers of whom can easily apply and receive licenses to kill should they disrupt their farming. And although there’s an assumed belief that kangaroo numbers are overpopulated and exponentially growing, Daniel Ramp from the Centre for Compassion and Conservation at UTS says there’s no evidence to support this and numbers are dwindling.
