Domestic violence leaves women and children with nowhere to go

More than fifty per cent of women who access homelessness services are fleeing domestic violence, and many of them have kids in tow. Those were some of the most disturbing findings in the first of a new annual report by the Salvation Army, released today. The study is helping to paint a new picture of what it means to be homeless – it doesn’t necessarily mean sleeping on the street and as one survivor says, it can happen to anyone.
