More than 26,000 young Australians between 12-25 years old are homeless. It’s a startling statistic being highlighted today on Youth Homelessness Matters Day by youth advocacy organisations across the country. They want to promote the fact that young people rarely become homeless due to their own fault – many are forced from their home by issues like domestic violence or discrimination because of their sexuality.
