Do you have a bob each way on State-Federal politics?
As the NSW Liberal opposition come to terms with its weekend defeat at the NSW state election, today the Federal Coalition government has continued to use the Iemma Government win to step up its attacks on Labor and Kevin Rudd. John Howard has been warning voters that they can’t risk a vote for the opposition at the next election, as this will see the country ruled by coast-to-coast Labor governments. Conventional wisdom says that Australian voters like to have a bob each way, that is Liberals in power Federally, balanced by state labor governments or visa versa. But is that conventional wisdom true, and what else can be learnt from the last state poll before the country heads to a Federal election towards the end of this year.
