The deaths of two more Australian soldiers in Afghanistan is raising questions about how effective our presence in the war–torn country is, and what our exit strategy should be. Attacks are intensifying with news just in that six people have been killed when a NATO convey was hit by machine gun fire and grenades just outside the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. PAUL JORDAN is the Operations Manager of Hart Security Australia and has seen the fighting first hand. He spent a decade in the Australian Special Air Service before working in the private security industry in Afghanistan. He says we should stay the course, but that we need to re-examine our strategy.
