With the collapses major manufacturing industries like textiles, calls are increasing for the government to step in and help create jobs, especially in areas that are environmentally more sustainable. In the US, Barack Obama, has been talking about a “Green New Deal” …so in the light of the dire predictions about unemployment in Australia, is this an idea we should be adopting?
