A revision to the Koala planning policy threatened to send the NSW Coalition into collapse last week, after the Nationals said that they would cross bench citing its imposition on traditional farming activities.

The contentious policy will limit what landholders such as farmers can do with their properties as well the areas  that property developers can re-zone.

The new planning policy lowers the threshold of what constitutes koala habitat in an effort to reverse the dwindling number of the species after a slew of bushfires and drought.
