With all this talk of government hypocrisy, it’s often Australia’s artists and musicians who express dissent through their work. Urthboy, aka Tim Levinson has just released his first solo album: “Distant Sense of Random Menace”. He previously worked with Explanatary in the Blue Mountains, and is also one of the three mc’s in hip hop outfit, the herd. the herd rose to the foreground of Australia’s hip hop scene last year with their politically incisive album “An Elefant Never Forgets”. While Urthboy’s release is diverse in styles and content, he’s not afraid to share his thoughts on current political issues. He described the inspiration behind the tracks “Whose Morals” and “Distant Sense of Random Menace”.
