Australian workers were none too happy with the recent small rise in the minimum wage which brought it to 13.74 an hour – but in the US there’s only been one rise in the past 10 years , bringing it to just 5.85 an hour… The US is, Australian unions tell us, a cautionary tale when it comes to workers rights. To drive the point home the ACTU has brought three American workers here to tell their dismal stories of low wages and poor conditions. Allan White, Dolores McCoy and Iris Flores are talking to workers around the country.
