Lately, Kevin Rudd’s Labor has been doing its best to play up its green streak. They’ve renounced nuclear energy and even promoted former Midnight Oil frontman Peter Garrett to the front bench. But they’ve recently come under attack from Greens Leader Bob Brown, who criticised them for following the Government’s lead on so-called “clean coal”. He argued that the proposed $1.5 billion for clean coal research and investment, should instead be spent on sustainable energy sources. Greens Senator Christine Milne dished the dirt on clean coal.
