Disabilitycare: Medicare levy increases to pay for NDIS

Earlier today, the Gillard Government announced that it was raising the Medicare levy by 0.5 per cent to fund the National Disability Insurance Scheme, after finding out it didn’t have $12 billion of the tax revenues it expected. The Wire spoke to South Australian parliamentarian and representative of the Dignity for Disability Party, Kelly Vincent, about what the Insurance Scheme and the increase in our Medicare payments mean for people with disabilities and Australians in general.
